Fault Finding

This service will identify the cause of tripping problems or parts of your system that have either stopped working or do not work as intended.

If the problem is caused by a simple issue such as a loose connection, your electrician will correct the fault. Otherwise, the affected part of the system will be disconnected so that all other parts of the system can be re-energised and continue to work as normal.

Your electrician will then advise you of the work and likely costs involved to permanently resolve the issue.

Included:
Diagnosis of the fault.

Fault Finding

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a testing & inspection procedure prescribed by the BS7671 Wiring Regulations. It is intended to determine the overall safety of the electrical system and identify any issues which need to be addressed.

An overall statement of either “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory” will be made.

A “Satisfactory” outcome means that the system is safe for continued use under the current conditions for a period specified by the inspector. This is usually 5 years but could vary depending on findings.

An “Unsatisfactory” outcome means that there are serious safety concerns which need to be corrected. The inspector will advise how urgently such issues need to be addressed.

In addition to the ‘overall outcome’, the inspector will provide a checklist of all items tested / inspected along with a schedule of test results and a list of observations.

My Reviews

Copa Electrical Installations

Ava Pover

Steffan is highly electrically competent and has a wealth of knowledge from previously working as a house renovator, helping massively to retrofit installations sympathetically into occupied properties.

I had Steffan round for a week to install structured network cabling in my 120 year old house, and you could barely tell he’s been here with everything put back so neatly.

Steffan successfully completed running 15 network cables over 3 routes, one involving cutting a hidden channel under the trim of a large door and window, another fishing under a suspended wooden floor, and the main route notching out under the stairs and heading to the upper levels of the property.

We were also able to complete 2 runs of single mode fibre as a future proofing exercise, not intended for immediate use.

I performed the terminations myself, but I’m sure Steffan would provide this service for anyone who didn’t want to do it!

The pictures on this review show a work in progress, many of the patch panel terminations have since been redone to have the cable lengths more aesthetically pleasing.

I wouldn’t hesitate to get Steffan involved with any future projects, and have already recommended his work to friends.

Had Steff do a few electrical jobs for us which included taking out faulty induction hob, fitting new ceramic hob, and putting in some new sockets. Steff did a fantastic job, was very professional, punctual, and left the house very tidy. Additionally, he messaged to let me know when he was running late and turned up when he said he would, which was much appreciated. Would highly recommend and definitely use COPA again for any future work.

I have used Tim on a number of occasions and recommended him to friends and family. Tim’s work is first class and to the highest standard. Also he is always on time, well mannered and cleans up after him. It is rare these days to find a tradesman of this standard and Tim will continue to be my number 1 choice when I need any electrical work carried out. Thank you Tim.

I have been using Tim’s services for over 6 years. I run a renovation and project company and value, reliability, intagrity and professionalism are paramount when chosing my sub contractors. Tim has all this and more. I will continue working with Tim for as long as possible. Thank you Tim .

Fuse box phoned me back after I left a message. He gave me a couple of options as to availability and arrived promptly at the arranged day & time . He gave me an approximate price to sort out what was required and finished the job in a couple of hours – he had brought a selection of items after I had explained the problems — so didn’t have to go and fetch stuff. Great 👍.

Just had Tim out again to modify a ring to add a new double socket. Fair and transparent pricing, was easy to book online. Tim discussed multiple approaches before going ahead to ensure I’d be happy with the aesthetics. Didn’t leave a mess! Thank you

I have used Fusebox Wales for the last 8 years to undertake a wide range of electrical work , from a full domestic re-wiring to changing light fittings, to wiring a cooker!

Tim always turns up when he says he will, charges what he said he would and clears up. I have never had to recall him because of a fault with his work.

Would absolutely recommend !

Jeremy Wright

With Tim you get exactly what it says on the tin: he comes when he says he will: he does the work that he has agreed to carry out and he does it at the price you expected. He is friendly, open and cooperative, offering ideas and suggestions for improvements at realistic costs. I am assured by his competence and confident that the work he carries out meets the regulations as well as being safe and properly executed. If you want a n electrician you can trust, wait until Time is free to do your job: you’ll be glad you waited.

Libby

Paulette Pelosi

We bless the day I finally found the excellent, concise, clear, informative website of Tim Phillips’ ‘Fusebox Wales’. We had a small electrical enquiry, regarding a faulty wall light. Previous enquiries with other electricians had us ‘let down’ (non appearance after pre-arranged appointment or swooning from verbal projections on suggestions of what was causing the fault and how much it might cost.) Tim’s website easily pointed us in the right direction. Posting him an enquiry, via the website provided us with an immediate email response. Soon we had an offer of a time&date for him to visit our home. Tim was punctual, courteous and after a thorough inspection of the electrical fault (failed connection to the wall light) came up with what he could do to repair . This even included suggested change to L.E.D lighting , something I had briefly previously considered. In all, he was here at least an hour & 15 minutes (working all that time on the electrics) and we were more than satisfied by the cost and service. He even emailed later to check on our satisfaction with his work. Yes, a trusty & reliable Electrician, the customer knows, if needed, they will totally employ again!

Hannah McCartan

I have been working with Tim from Fusebox Wales for over 15 years, assisting us with all the legal complexities around electrical safety and residential lettings. I completely trust his judgement, and his professionalism is second to none. I regularly recommend Tim to friends, clients etc and use him on all my own properties too.
